John Lill, whose long association with Michael dates back to a performance of Prokofiev 1 at the Proms in 1971, will be the soloist for the concert. He will be performing Rachmaninov's 3rd Piano Concerto, one of Michael's favourites.

MICHAEL ROSE’S 75th BIRTHDAY CONCERT NEEDS YOU!

Were you a member of the BBC TRAINING ORCHESTRA (1968-72) or the BEDFORDSHIRE COUNTY YOUTH ORCHESTRA (1972 onwards)?

We’re looking for ex-members of these two orchestras, who are now playing professionally, to play in a huge super-orchestra reunion concert to celebrate Michael’s 75th on Sunday, 11th January 2009 at Bedford Corn Exchange. The concert will be in aid of the Prostate Cancer Research Fund.

Rehearsal and concert on the same day. Programme to be announced. Food and lashings of cake provided.
