What We Do
Current and recent projects
Woldgate College feasibility study: We are working with this specialist Arts College in Pocklington, East Yorkshire, to develop their music provision.
UKCCA Creative Partnerships: We have just ended a 16-month relationship with CP to set up and support the pilot year of a new Area Delivery Office for CP in Luton, at the UK Centre for Carnival Arts. We worked initially with 13 schools, recruiting and managing a team of 4 Creative Agents and 13 Creative Partners, culminating in a sharing day. We have also assisted in recruiting 32 schools in Luton and Bedfordshire for the 2009-11 phase of the project, and in recruiting the new team
to run the programme. Read more...
Sound Connections case studies and ‘Learning and Skills in the East of England’: two recent documentation projects creating case studies for the music organisation Sound Connections and researching and producing a booklet for Arts Council England East.
Creativity for Life (2006-08): part of a partnership programme funded through Creative Partnerships by the then DES (now the DCSF). Working with the Essex and Hertfordshire local authorities, we set up two-year artist-led creative education projects in 26 schools. Projects were developed by schools on an individual basis according to the needs of the school and its pupils and staff.
Olney Conducting Workshops: These successful independent training workshops, directed by the distinguished teacher, conductor and composer Michael Rose, have run since autumn 2006. The year’s programme usually includes 2-3 Beginners’ Days and two weekend courses, as well as extra Study Days on specific works and individual tuition. Students range in age from 14 to 60 plus, and include teachers, music students, professional musicians wishing to develop their conducting and those who are already working as conductors.
